Periosteal Elevators are designed for reflecting and retracting the mucoperiosteum after incisions of the gingival tissue. It is a double ended hand instrument with one round, and one pointed blade used to raise mucoperiosteal flaps from the attached gingiva around the tooth to be extracted.
